After gushing over Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes last week, Geoff and Jack’s dreams come true, as the author of the book, Andrew E.C. Gaska, sits down to talk with them about it and answer some of their questions.  He gives us an inside look at the process behind how the project came together, how he managed to get the fantastic collection of artwork seen in the book, and how it ended up getting him his current position as the overseer (the Lawgiver?) of Planet of the Apes continuity.  This is the guy Fox comes to when they have questions about the Timeline of the Apes!  (And Predator).  Jack and Geoff don’t waste the opportunity to nerd out with Mr. Gaska on all those nagging Apes continuity questions, discover how Hasslein curves make all Apes continuity possible, the strange and funny story about how comics legend Jim Steranko ended up illustrating the cover and influencing the plot, and what’s in store for us later this year when his next book, Destroyer of the Planet of the Apes, rocks our world.   It’s such a relief to discover one of the chief architects of modern Ape-dom is less of a Zaius and more of a Cornelius.  In other words, he’s a fan too.
